We’d Like To Wish You A Merry Christmas!
Well, it’s December 23, and we’re about to start The Hayride’s usual end-of-the-year powering down. But before we start the Christmas weekend and our slower holiday schedule next week, we wanted to take a minute and wish our readers all the blessings of the season.
Things are not good in the world. Our politics are a mess, our economics are worse and our culture is an unmitigated sewer. Nobody’s happy about the state of things. And that’s why it’s more important than ever to mark this Christmas as a much-needed blast of fellowship and joy.
We wish you a merry Christmas. We hope the spark of Christmas spirit, which is simply a seasonal manifestation of the Holy Spirit itself, penetrates your heart and gives you peace and happiness.
Be kind to others. Give strangers a smile. Think happy thoughts and offer fond wishes. Make peace with those toward whom you harbor bad sentiments. It’s that time of the year, and your soul undoubtedly needs it.
Christmas isn’t just a time to engage in consumerism. You can’t measure Christmas spirit by how much you spend on gifts. You can measure it by kindness.
We hope those around it show it to you. And vice versa.
