A touching moment After saving up for the adoption cost, a Louisiana boy reassures his pit bull rescue dog that he is “very loved.”
Pit bull mix Neil was taken from a violent family and placed in a shelter.
After the rescue, the Companion Animal Alliance near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, sponsored $15 adoptions to encourage animal rescues, he was adopted in 2022.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals reports that only 2 million of the 3.1 million dogs who enter shelters each year are really adopted.
This touching video shows a Louisiana child telling his newly adopted pit bull that he is safe after saving him from an abusive household.

Mother from Baton Rouge captured the moment on camera.

The woman’s son, who is seven, can be seen petting their dog on the head in the footage.

The dog, a blonde pit bull mix named Neil, was taken from an abusive home where he had been burned with cigarettes and was adopted from the family’s neighbourhood shelter.

Because Companion Animal Alliance, a shelter, offered adoptions for only $15 to encourage animal rescues, they chose to adopt Neil. According to the mother, her son saved up his pocket money and covered Neil’s adoption costs on his own.
