Opening Day is almost here.

On Thursday, stadiums will open, and teams will have the opportunity to play in front of their home fans for the first time since last fall.

The Philadelphia Phillies are out to prove that their magic carpet ride to the World Series was no fluke and that they are built for the long haul.

To prove that they’re serious about getting back to the Fall Classic, they signed Trea Turner, Taijuan Walker, and Craig Kimbrel, and traded for Gregory Soto.

On Twitter, the Phillies posted a collage of several photos featuring their players smiling to celebrate Opening Day.

The Phillies’ road back to the World Series will certainly not be easy.

They’ll have to deal with the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves in the NL East and will also have to contend with other big spenders such as the San Diego Padres.

They’ll also be without Rhys Hoskins for the entire season and won’t have Bryce Harper back from Tommy John surgery until July.

However, stars such as Turner, J.T. Realmuto, Nick Castellanos, Kyle Schwarber, Zack Wheeler, and Aaron Nola give them a chance to compete with the best teams in all of baseball.

The defending National League champions entered the postseason as the third Wild Card and took care of the St. Louis Cardinals, Braves, and Padres to reach the World Series.

They fell short in six games against the Houston Astros, but they are out to prove that their World Series run was no fluke.
