The National’s Homecoming Festival will return to Cincinnati, Ohio, for the first time since its inaugural edition in 2018. The band announced the news today (May 17), along with the lineup for the 2023 event, which takes place September 15-16. Patti Smith & Her Band, Pavement, Arooj Aftab, Bartees Strange, the Walkmen, Weyes Blood, and others will perform on the Icon Festival Stage at Smale Park. The National will headline on Friday and Saturday and will perform a unique set each night. Check out the full lineup on the poster below.

“When we launched Homecoming in 2018, we were overwhelmed by the response from the community and by our renewed sense of connection to our hometown,” the National wrote in press materials. “It was such an exciting, memorable weekend and we’ve long hoped to bring it back. We’re honored to return to Cincinnati five years later and be joined by so many of our favorite musicians and friends.”

The second Homecoming Festival was originally slated for May 2020, but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The National released their most recent album, First Two Pages of Frankenstein, last month. The LP features appearances from Taylor Swift, Sufjan Stevens, and Phoebe Bridgers.
