The New York Jets have been very aggressive so far this offseason.

They’re looking to find a way to trade for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he said he wants to play for them, and it could simply be a matter of how much draft compensation the Green Bay Packers demand.

New York also traded wide receiver Elijah Moore and a third-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns for a second-round pick while signing Mecole Hardman to replace him.

Earlier this offseason, the team also brought in former Rodgers teammate Allen Lazard, also a wide receiver.

In addition, the Jets have some “very real” interest in snagging free agent wideout Odell Beckham Jr., according to NFL reporter Connor Hughes.

Beckham, of course, made his name several years ago when he started his NFL career with the Tri-state area’s other team, the New York Giants.

He registered over 1,300 receiving yards and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, but injuries started to sap his productivity shortly afterward.

As a member of the Browns, Beckham tore his ACL during the 2020 season, and he suffered the same injury less than 18 months later during Super Bowl LVI while playing for the Los Angeles Rams.

He likely won’t be an every-down receiver anymore at this point of his career, let alone a featured one, but in certain situations, he could give the Jets a change of pace while taking some pressure off Lazard and reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson.
