Daniel Jones has been one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL in the past several seasons.

Although the New York Giants were able to win a playoff game this season, many have doubted Jones’ ability to be a long-term starter in the NFL.

In 2023, he will be entering his fifth NFL season and will look to secure a contract extension before the season starts.

Despite the crowd noise, the Giants have maintained their faith and trust in Jones to continue to lead them.

This morning, the Giants’ GM, Joe Schoen, pledged his full support of Jones moving forward.

Has Jones played well enough to warrant a huge, multi-year deal, similar to that of Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes?

While Jones hasn’t quite gotten to the caliber of Mahomes or Allen, his rise in productivity and efficiency was something of note this season.

2022 marked career highs for Jones in passing yards, completion percentage, passer rating, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns.

Jones also had a career-low in interceptions, only throwing five of them.

Although Jones could certainly use some work in the passing game, his rushing yard total (708) is something that the Giants can continue to look forward to.

If they do decide to extend Jones, the Giants will know exactly what they are getting.

The Giants have a great opportunity to continue to build and mold Jones’ game in the next several seasons.

With any luck, Jones will be able to continue to lead them to the playoffs, hopefully finding success past the Wild Card round.
