The Golden State Warriors should be heavily involved in trade talks as the NBA trade deadline approaches.

It has become apparent that they need another veteran or two to help their current roster.

The Warriors have a record of 21-21 so far this season and have not performed up to expectation.

One position they should be targeting is the backup center.

After Kevon Looney and Draymond Green, the Warriors do not have any other playable big men.

So, Warriors coach Steve Kerr has been using Andre Iguodala as their third big man.

For those counting, that would be three undersized big men for the Warriors.

Even though they are each good enough to hold their own defensively.

Golden State needs to find another center with size.

Relying on a 38-year-old Iguodala to be your third big man is not a winning formula.

Especially because he is only 6’6″.

Some of the centers that might be available for trade include Jakob Poeltl, Mason Plumlee, Kelly Olynyk, and Myles Turner.

Each of these players has the size the Warriors are looking for and would provide them with another capable center.

If the Warriors’ front office is serious about contending, they should be willing to trade James Wiseman.

Wiseman is not ready to be an everyday contributor so moving him to a rebuilding team would make sense.

Kerr also mentioned how he was nervous about the high usage that both Looney and Green were seeing.

Over a long 82-game season plus playoffs, the Warriors will need another contributor to help give those guys some rest.

Expect to see the Warriors active in the trade market over the coming weeks.
