The New York Giants came out on fire to start the 2022 NFL season.

However, their 6-1 start to the season had little to do with Daniel Jones and his performance.

With the team’s offense being fueled by Saquon Barkley, fans might wonder if Jones should stay with the team.

But the answer to his fate with the Giants might not come until the end of the season.

While the Giants are still playoff contenders, the way Jones plays in the remaining games might give fans a picture of where he should be next season.

Jones Needs To Get Into The Playoffs

It’s very hard for fans to love Jones when he’s not producing touchdowns this season.

His 11 passing touchdowns ranks him 23rd in the NFL, which means he’s in the bottom half of passing touchdowns.

However, he has some hope with his passing statistics over the middle.

With this stat, Jones ranks third among quarterbacks.

While he’s solid with those passes, he’s failing when he needs to score points.

But where he fails, Barkley picks up to help his team.

Because of this, defenses are noticing this and focusing on the star running back.

Until Jones can score more touchdowns, fans won’t be happy with his play.

However, he can make improvements if his receivers can step up.

Outside of his low scoring numbers, he’s showing he can protect the ball.

The low interceptions and fumbles from him in 2022 show he can make improvements.

But unless he can carry the Giants to the playoffs this season, he might be gone after 2022.
