Rock Hall 2022: Watch Dolly Parton Perform “Jolene” With Inductee Supergroup

Dolly Parton performed “Rockin’ Years” at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles Saturday night (November 5). She was also joined by Pat Benatar, Eurythmics’ Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Simon Le Bon, Brandi Carlile, and Judas Priest’s Rob Halford for “Jolene.” Watch it below.

Parton had initially turned down her February nomination, saying that she didn’t want to split voters and would “respectfully bow out.” In late April, however, she conceded, telling NPR’s Morning Edition that she would accept the award “gracefully” after all. She was inducted along with the rest of the class of 2022—Eminem, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, and Pat Benatar—at the beginning of May.

This year marked Parton’s first nomination for Rock Hall entry after more than 30 years of eligibility. Harry Belafonte and guitarist Elizabeth Cotten were honored with Early Influence Awards this year, with Musical Excellence trophies awarded to Judas Priest and production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
