Rep. Kevin McCarthy loses bid for House speaker for 11th time amid GOP deadlock | Day 3

The House of Representatives has failed to elect a speaker for the third day in a row. GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy was unable to win a majority in an eleventh ballot. McCarthy made two key concessions to 21 conservative holdouts on Wednesday, but none of them supported him in the three rounds of voting that took place on Thursday. Democrats, meanwhile, have remained united behind New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
