The Boston Red Sox offseason has been a mixed bag to this point.

While they managed to sign Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida, slugger Justin Turner, right-hander Corey Kluber, and All-Star closer Kenley Jansen, they also missed out on three free agents, those being Jose Abreu, Tommy Kahnle, and Zach Eflin.

They also lost Xander Bogaerts, who signed an 11-year deal with the San Diego Padres.

Some concerns were put to rest on Wednesday when the team extended slugger Rafael Devers, but there are still holes to fill.

One Red Sox fan is hoping for a miracle.

Specifically, he hopes that the Red Sox can swoop in and steal Carlos Correa from the New York Mets, similarly to how they did with the San Francisco Giants.

This would certainly make up for the loss of Bogaerts.

In what could prove to be his only season with the Minnesota Twins, Correa hit .291 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI.

As we all know, both the Giants and the Mets have raised concerns over Correa’s physical.

This could ultimately lead to the Mets walking away from the deal.

And the Red Sox are a team that could use a shortstop following Bogaerts’ departure.

Correa would give them an impact bat as well as a solid defender.

The 28-year-old does have a Gold Glove to his name.

Boston also lost J.D. Martinez in free agency, so another bat certainly would not hurt them.

The team won just 78 games and finished at the bottom of the American League East in 2022.
