So far, the Memphis Grizzlies of 2022-23 look a lot like the Grizzlies of last season.

The team has a 7-3 record right now and is the third team in the West.

Most people are paying close attention to Ja Morant, the team’s biggest star and an MVP contender yet again.

But there are other guys on the squad who should be catching your eye.

Desmond Bane is one of them.

He has been on a tear over the last six games and has been consistently putting up amazing numbers.

His best night was when he scored 38 against the struggling Brooklyn Nets.

But he has also scored 31 points, 32, and most recently 28 against the Washington Wizards.

Bane has also had a tremendous field goal percentage that is sometimes reaching 66%.

So far, Bane is experiencing the best season of his career so far with no sign of letting up soon.

Bane Breaking Out

Bane’s current season average is 24.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists, with a 45.6% field goal percentage and 46.8% from the three-point line.

He is easily one of the best parts of his Grizzlies team.

This is good news because the team has remained strong even when Morant has been hurt.

Last season, they were able to still put away many victories on nights when Morant sat.

If they wish to make it far into the postseason, they will need more than Morant’s high-flying, flashy plays.

They will need athletes like Bane and others to step up and have incredible games again and again.

Some people expected the Grizzlies to struggle a lot more this season because the Western Conference was depleted last season and the competition wasn’t as tough.

So far, they have been surging and that’s partly due to Bane.
