Plane Flies Inside Hurricane Ida's Eye Before Making Landfall in Louisiana | 10 News First

Video has captured the calm eye of Hurricane Ida over the Gulf of Mexico, just hours before the Category 4 storm made landfall in Louisiana and inflicted damage on New Orleans.

Hurricane Hunters on the National Hurricane Centre’s research aircraft captured the surreal vision.

They forecast that the storm would generate winds of 140 miles per hour (225 km/h), heavy rains and a tidal surge that could batter the Louisiana coastline.
