The Minnesota Vikings have been outstanding this season, as their 7-1 start has them 4.5 games up in the NFC North standings.

One of the big reasons for their success has been the play of wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Through eight games, Jefferson has 59 receptions for 867 yards and three touchdowns.

He ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards and is on pace for his third-straight 1,400-yard season.

One mistake the opposing teams are making is leaving Jefferson single covered.

No wide receiver has more yardage against single coverage this year than Jefferson.

Every team needs an elite wide receiver to have success in the passing game.

If you look at the top passing offenses in the league they all have a true number-one receiver.

Jefferson and Tyreek Hill are the top two receivers in the NFL this season based on receiving yards.

Every team with a receiver on the graphic above has a winning record.

The Vikings March On

While Jefferson has been the best player on the Vikings this year, he is not the only one producing.

Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen have all made substantial impacts this season.

Also, newly acquired T.J. Hockenson should make the offense even more dangerous.

Minnesota appears to be a lock to make the playoffs this season.

Which would be their first postseason appearance since 2019.

As the Vikings get set for their toughest stretch of the season, this is where the fans will find out how good they truly are.

Minnesota is set to play the Bills, Cowboys, Patriots, and Jets over the next four games.

All of which are teams with winning records.

Jefferson must continue his torrid pace if the Vikings hope to get out of that stretch with a few wins.
