Back on December 21st, NBA analyst Nick Wright made a rather bold prediction about the New York Knicks.

Tom Thibodeau’s team was playing very well, and some thought it was the beginning of their season turnaround.

Wright, however, stated that the Knicks were a threat to nobody in the playoffs and that six weeks from that day, they could even be out of the playoff picture as a whole.

Fast forward to today, and not only did it not happen, but also the Knicks have gotten even better and are currently riding a nine-game winning streak.

Needless to say, Knicks fans and media have mocked Wright for being flat-out wrong about the Knicks.

Wright tried to defend himself from all the mockery and criticism by stating that the Knicks aren’t on the same tier as, say, the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and Philadelphia 76ers.

And while that’s fair — and no one would argue that —that’s not what he said of the Knicks back in December.

It’s not that hard to admit when you were wrong, and a team has performed better than expected; it happens to the best of us.

The Knicks have been a much better team than even the most optimistic fan thought they would be, especially considering some claimed that Thibodeau entered the season on the hot seat.
