HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY’S SHOW:
Four men, who held a Mayaro businessman and his family during a home invasion in Mayaro, were shot and killed by police on Monday 3rd October 2022 during an alleged shootout at the scene.
• According to reports the unidentified man was tied up along with his wife and daughter with duct tape at their home in Krista Park housing development in Beaumont Road, Mayaro.
• Police stated that officers responded to a report and upon arrival they entered the premises when they were shot at by the suspects.
• The team of officers therefore returned fire and shot four men who subsequently died. Four firearms were also retrieved from the crime scene.
Police killings for the month of September
On Tuesday 27th September 2022, Richard Farrier of Cosmos Street, off Coconut Drive in Morvant was shot dead near his home by police officers.
On Monday 19th September 2022: Kyle Ramdhan, Keyon Ramdhan, and Greg Dodough, all of Delhi Road, Fyzabad; and Deaundre Montrose were killed by police officers following deadly heist at Pennywise Plaza in La Romain.
On Sunday 18th September 2022: Nazarali Rahim was killed by an off duty officer along the Aranguez main road in the vicinity of Apache Bar, where he allegedly attempted to bounce an officer.
Saturday 10th september 2022: Phillip “The Boss” Boodram of Enterprise, Gerard Thorrington, of Goodwill Road, Enterprise, and Malick Paul, of Railway Road, California, Couva was shot dead by police officer in Couva.
On Thursday 8th September, 2022 Quamie Wallace, Ricky Taylor, and Ronnell Alexander was shot dead in Enterprise, by police officers.
A dismembered body was found in the waters off Williams’s Bay, Chaguaramas by dragon boat athletes who were training on Sunday 2nd October 2022.
• Reports stated that the boaters noticed an object floating in the water as well as a strong smell while they training around 8 am.
• When they reached closer they noticed the toes as well as a whole foot. they immediately left the scene and went to shore to seek assistance, however, while paddling back, they noticed the torso and one side of an arm in the water.
• According to police, they believe the dismembered body who was only identified as a male was disposed of in garbage bags close to the water before high tide pulled it into the sea.
19-year-old Jheurel Jabari Braxton also known as “Hassan” was gunned down in St. Croix, Princes town on Saturday 1st October, 2022.
• Reports stated that Braxton was standing at the side of St Croix road when a silver Nissan ad wagon stopped alongside him and a gunman got out of the vehicle and shot him several times.
• Braxton was seen running a short distance after being shot before he fell to the ground and died.
• Reports also indicated that the Nissan ad wagon that was used for his murder was later found burnt at Perry young road, Princes Town.
• Relatives of Braxton said his name had been calling in a murder in robbery/homicide of Anim Singh, an employee of Phats International, Princes Town, who was shot on Aug 3rd, 2022. Braxton was believed to have been “put in place” to be killed by his own friends.
23-year-old Rivas Ramos Jeremy De Jesus, a Venezuelan national was killed while two others injured during a drive-by shooting in endeavour Chaguanas on Sunday 2nd October 2022.
• Rivas was liming with his father, brother and a cousin near the first & last bar, around 3 am in the morning when a van pulled up and four men began shooting at the group of individuals.
• Rivas fell to the ground, while the group scampered. officers also stated that Rivas’s brother suffered a gunshot wound to the lower back and while his cousin was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the right hand.
