The 2022 MLB regular season will end on Wednesday.

The matchups for the Wild Card series, however, are already decided: the Seattle Mariners will face the Toronto Blue Jays in Canada, and the Tampa Bay Rays will visit the Cleveland Guardians in the junior circuit.

In the National League, the New York Mets will host the San Diego Padres and the St. Louis Cardinals will play the Philadelphia Phillies at home.

The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees earned first-round byes in the American League, and the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves will skip the Wild Card round and enter play in the Division Series round in the National League.

MLB already released the start times for these Wild Card games, set to start on Friday after a day to rest and travel on Thursday.

The Best-Of-Three Series Are Set To Start

The action will start on Friday with the Rays vs. Guardians game at 12:07 pm ET, on ESPN.

The Phillies and Cardinals will take the field at 2:07 pm ET that same day.

The Mariners – Blue Jays matchup starts at 4:07 pm ET, and the Padres – Mets will be aired on ESPN at 8:07 pm ET.

The Wild Card series will extend into the weekend, with the four games on schedule for Saturday and, if necessary, for Sunday.

These games will all be played at the home of the team with the higher seed, and to advance to the Division Series, a team must win two out of three games.

The postseason is about to start and will have a new format to accommodate 12 teams in the postseason, six in each league.

The true season is set to begin.
