MLB Postseason Attendance Is Reaching Record Highs

Those who say MLB is dying will have to eat their words, because evidence indicates otherwise.

After a couple of rough years in 2020 and 2021 while dealing with the pandemic and the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations that were bad enough a lockout took place, the pieces are starting to fall in their respective places.

Postseason baseball has draw a ton of interest in TV ratings and among fans who want to go to the stadium.

In addition to that, playoff baseball returned to places in which it was missed, to say the least.

The attendance numbers speak for themselves.

Fans Are Crazy About The 2022 MLB Playoffs, And It Shows

Game 4 of the NL Division Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves in Philly drew the most fans in a Phillies game in nine years.

The number of people going to T-Mobile Park for the AL Division Series between the Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros was the highest in 21 years (!), which coincides with the last time there was postseason baseball in Seattle.

Petco Park packed the house in Game 4, too, with the most fans in attendance since 2015.

Last but not least, Game 3 between the Cleveland Guardians and the New York Yankees represented the largest crowd in Cleveland since 2018.

This goes to show MLB owners that a competitive club will draw a lot of people to the stadium, and that it should be viewed as an investment: put a better roster on the field and reap the benefits.
