The Minnesota Twins started off the year hot and looked to be the class of the AL Central.

Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way, but one player in particular had a season worth remembering.

Luis Arraez hit .316 with eight home runs, 49 RBI, and a .795 OPS in 547 at-bats during the regular season.

That was enough for him to win the batting title in the American League.

That’s a tremendous achievement in and of itself, but Arraez has a chance to add a little something more to his memorable season.

Arraez just so happens to be one the finalists at first base for an American League Gold Glove Award.

Arraez A Finalist For Gold Glove

While Arraez’s magical season wasn’t enough to save the Twins from an ugly finish, a Gold Glove would certainly cap things off pretty nicely.

The Twins finished in third place with a 78-84 record.

But Arraez certainly had success in 2022 and could potentially have even more once the winners of each major award are announced.

At the age of 25, he’s already turned into one of the most consistent hitters in all of baseball, but his defense has been quite impressive as well.

The other finalists for the Gold Glove Award at first base in the AL are Anthony Rizzo of the New York Yankees and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays.

That’ll certainly be some stiff competition, but Arraez could end up being the one that comes out on top in this race.

Winning the batting title was a tremendous accomplishment, but if he can win a Gold Glove too, he’ll have a lot to be proud of in 2022.
