LSU baseball has far too much talent to not win the College World Series

LSU baseball stars Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews earned SEC honors as the Tigers’ Friday night ace was awarded SEC Player of the Year and Crews was crowned SEC Player of the Year. Skenes leads the country in strikeouts and Crews has one of the best batting averages and on base percentages across college baseball. Crews and Skenes are projected to be the first two picks in the MLB Draft this summer. With that caliber of talent, in addition to the other incredibly well-decorated players on the roster such as Tommy White, Tre Morgan, Gavin Dugas, etc., is there any excuse for LSU not to win the College World Series?

The first test of the postseason begins Wednesday morning as LSU takes on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Hoover, Alabama for the SEC Baseball Tournament. South Carolina shut out the Georgia Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon while LSU earned a first round bye as the #3 seed in the conference tournament. LSU baseball head coach Jay Johnson reiterated to the media that the Tigers, no matter who or where they are playing, will play to compete and to win.
