Go to the Louisiana Tax Commission’s website (https://www.latax.state.la.us/Menu_ParishTaxRolls/TaxRolls.aspx), choose your Parish, write your address, check the most recently past tax year, and ensure that it says HOMESTEAD: YES

If not, you’re going to need to go to the Tax Assessor office and bring them annual utility bills to prove that you’ve lived at this primary residence for 3 years and they’ll begin the refund process for you!
