Here is a station id, promo, and newsbreak montage from KLFY TV 10, the CBS affiliate in Lafayette, LA/Acadiana. All copyrights of Texoma, Young, Media General, and Nexstar acknowledged. While KLFY’s image during this era had plenty of consistency, it underwent a radical change when Nexstar purchased the station in 2017. The earliest ids are from KLFY’s Texoma days, the next ones are from the Young Broadcasting days, and the remaining ones are from the Media General era then the Nexstar ones. KLFY Nexstar sadly retired the hurricane eye logo November 6, 2017.

KLFY’s logo that has been in use in various forms since the mid 1970s features a 10 inside a hurricane eye symbol. Also, from the early 1980s until 2005, the station used the popular news theme “Hello News” with the tagline Hello Acadiana. Despite no longer using Hello News, KLFY continued to use the tagline Hello Acadiana when starting newscasts until about late 2018/early 2019.

The earliest id is one already on YouTube featuring a flower bouquet over stereo broadcasting. KLFY was one of the earliest TV stations in Louisiana to broadcast in stereo and was likely the first CBS affiliate in Louisiana to go stereo.

In 2005, KLFY dropped Hello News in favor of a 615 Music theme: Bulletin/Something’s Happening Here. It was also around this time that KLFY began losing its ratings lead to KATC, perhaps there is a correlation between that and dropping Hello News. From 2011-2017, the station has used various other production music tracks from Firstcom and has changed its news image to Acadiana’s Multi Media News and KLFY News 10. In addition, KLFY served as the CBS affiliate on record for Alexandria, LA, along with Monroe’s KNOE; KLFY had a longer tenure on Alexandria cable TV than KNOE, and was on cable until 2015 (Alexandria is now served exclusively by KALB 5.2, although it and KLFY were both on cable for about 9 years in tandem). In 2017, Nexstar changed KLFY’s logo, removing the hurricane eye, and adopting a logo similar to sister station WTEN in Albany, NY (an ABC affiliate) and standard Nexstar CBS affiliate graphics and the “Canvas” news theme, ironically a station used by many Media General stations in its last year of ownership.

KLFY originally had Live Well Network on its 10.2 subchannel until that network began winding down operations. After nearly a year of having a blank subchannel, KLFY added Ion Television on 10.3 and then GetTV on 10.2 and, since becoming a Nexstar station, Laff on 10.4. In 2020, GetTV was replaced by Dabl on 10.2.

Syndicated programming on KLFY included, but is not limited to: Cheers, The Cosby Show, Coach, Dr. Phil, Entertainment Tonight, Three’s Company, Family Ties, Friday the 13th the Series, Rush Limbaugh, Designing Women, Win, Lose, or Draw, Day and Date, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and Home Improvement.

News anchors/reporters featured or mentioned include, but not limited to: Dick Faurot, Blue Rolfes, Darla Montgomery, Maria Placer, Hoyt Harris, Mike Barras, Jim Olivier, Rex Moore, Holly Willrod, Rob Perillo, Lee Stanley, Chuck Huebner, Mike Rueback, Jennifer Walker, Dalfred Jones.
