The Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors battled it out on Monday night in a wild, exciting game.

Believe it or not, the Kings are just one spot behind the Warriors in the current Western Conference standings.

In other words, both of these teams are doing poorly although few people expected to see this record from the Warriors.

That means that both teams were fighting hard on Monday and it all came down to the wire.

The game had just seconds left and the Warriors were up by three points.

Kings player Kevin Huerter received the ball, set up a clean three-pointer, and fired it off.

The ball didn’t go in but Huerter and his team were adamant that he was fouled by Klay Thompson.

A slow-mo replay of the possession shows that it really does look like Thompson touched Huerter as he shot the ball.

Yet, no foul was called so no free throws were given and the Kings fell 116-113.

On Tuesday morning, Sacramento fans were still irate.

No Call For The Kings

If the refs would have called the foul on Thompson, then Hurter would have been given three shots and he could have tied the game, sending it into overtime.

The Kings would have a 4-5 record today if they won on Monday and the Warriors would be 3-8.

That’s a huge change of fate.

Moments like this happen in the NBA: referees aren’t perfect and mistakes happen and, sadly, these calls are made in the moment.

Still, this one stings badly for fans of the Kings.

A win over the Warriors would have obviously helped the Kings in the standings but it would have also been a major moral victory too.
