Here is an updated id promo montage from KALB, the dominant TV station out of Alexandria and Central Louisiana. All copyrights of Lanford, Park, Media General, Hoak Media, and Gray Media acknowledged. KALB was Alexandria, LA’s first TV station dating back to 1954 and has been an NBC affiliate since day one. The earliest promos and bumpers come from 1985 and are generally covered through 2020. Branding has included TV 5, NewsCentral 5, and, since its earliest Media General ownership, Newschannel 5. The current slogan is “your local station,” with historic slogans including “The Leader in Central Louisiana.” Video and audio quality varies based on source tapes. Since 2007, KALB has also broadcast CBS on its second subchannel (known as CBS 2 given its location on Suddenlink Cable) and since 2016, the station has assumed the CW affiliation but many ids on that network are usually focus on other parts of station programming. In mid-2021, Gray/KALB launched a low powered translator, K25PZ, which has broadcasted on channels 3 and 25 at different times, to bring a high-definition feed of the CW subchannel for the first time since 2016 when KALB assumed the affiliation. In mid-2022, KALB brought Circle and Grit TV to Alexandria on channels 5.4 and 5.5, respectively.

KALB’s original owner was T. B. Lanford, who also signed on fellow NBC affiliate and former and current sister KPLC in Lake Charles on the same day in 1954. In 1993, Park Communications purchased the station from Lanford and owned it until selling to Media General in 1997. In 2008, Media General sold KALB to Hoak Media, making it a sister station to CBS affiliate KNOE in Monroe. In 2014, Gray Media acquired KALB from Hoak, bringing the company back to Louisiana after selling KTVE in El Dorado/Monroe in 1997. Today, Gray owns at least one TV station in each of Louisiana’s markets except Lafayette.
