January 2020 Lafayette Louisiana Real Estate Market Report

January’s 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣ is off to a record start!!!🔥🔥

Robbie Breaux here with Robbie Breaux Team at eXp realty. Lafayette’s Real Estate Market EXPLODED out of the gates in January.

290 Closed Sales in 2020
vs.
171 Closed Sales in 2019

That’s an increase of nearly 70%! 😱

AND … the best January on record by nearly 24%!!! (2017)

Average sales price is up 4.7% 🙌🏼

396 new listings came on to the market which is down 4.8%, in other words Lafayette’s inventory supply is tightening

The next thing is the number of homes that are coming off the market. That number is 304 or an 18% increase

One of the reasons that we are seeing all of this momentum is …
✅30 year fixed rates 3.5%
✅15 year fixed rates 3%
✅FHA/VA/RD right at 3%!!!
✅Jumbo – 4%

Rates are currently in a holding pattern at these 4 year lows. Your buying power increases tremendously with these record rates.

Record Sales from December 2019 along with record sales in January 2020 coupled with all time low interest rates tells us we should be in for a treat for 2020.
