How to Homeschool in the state of Louisiana, Homeschooling, LA Home School Curriculum Ideas, Portfolio Ideas
You can go to the HSLDA website or LA Department of Education website to see any updates or what the rules and regulations are for Homeschoolers to follow in order to Home School in the state of Kentucky.
You can find free curriculum online. You may find workbooks and textbooks at local thrift stores or through local Home-School support groups.
It is a good idea to keep a Portfolio, containing calendars, daily activity logs, field trip information, contact information, and samples of the students work.

There are websites online that offer free curriculum at the time of posting this video such as IXL, Khan Academy, Allinonehomeschool, Hippocampus, and athomemiddleschool.
When you are homeschooling you want to make certain that you teach the main subjects but understand that you can add on other subjects as well. When you keep track of their records and attendance you can list things like swimming lessons, piano lessons, horseback riding lessons, and you can even list hiking as part of P.E. If you list Field Trips such as going to a Museum, an Art Gallery, Aquarium, Zoo, or even a live Theatre. Playing games such as Chess, Monopoly, Clue, Scattergories, Hangman, Yahtzee, Scrabble, Backgammon, Trivial Pursuit, Dominos, Cribbage, and other board games helps to teach them various subjects and can be utilized here and there to break up the monotony in your homeschool and to make it a bit more fun. Keep in mind that there is a list somewhere of things that they need to learn in each subject that year that you want to make certain that they learn and that you can’t spend all day everyday playing board games and going to museums. That is not what I meant.
I have tried to find ways to make it easier to enroll in homeschooling if that is your choice.
It is recommended by most websites that deal with home instruction that you keep a portfolio of the daily lessons that were taught to your students that include the date, the subject, whether taught online, book, workbook, or orally, (the name of the book or website) along with what they were doing as far as the activity – for example –
Day 1, Aug 5th, 8am History / Reading, Studying, & Thinking – allinonehomeschool.com listen to Paul Bunyan story, read Paul Bunyan story, watching Paul Bunyan video & oral discussion. Learned about Tall Tales and how to make on up. (break within for 10am snack) 10.30am Math – allinonehomeschool.com greater than less than game, Schoolhouse Rock Multiplication songs videos on youtube 0, 1, 2 times tables,. Noon Lunch 12.30 English / Reading – allinonehomeschool.com reading Tongue Twister, writing name, address, phone number 1.30 Health – Played Calorie Counting game (from Day 10 of allinonehomeschool) 2.00 Bible Study Matthew Jesus is born 2.30 Wrote spelling words. 3.00-3.30pm Art – drawing
You may also choose to keep a folder of your field trips including leaflets, photos of your child on the field trip, or written work of your child about the field trip even if it is about what they learned or what they enjoyed the most about it.
You may keep a page with a list of websites, books, workbooks, games, magazine subscriptions, and other materials you will or have been utilizing for homeschooling.
You can print out the curriculum for the website or books index or contents page to add to your portfolio as well.
Written work from the student from at least of few pages each month of each subject should be included in the Portfolio.

Contacts with emails and address for school and support groups
