Tuesday was Bark at the Park day at Citi Field.

It means that New York Mets fans could go to the stadium with their canine friends.

It’s a very cool day and it allows pet lovers to enjoy America’s pastime with some of the most loyal companions.

The Mets won both ends of the doubleheader against the Washington Nationals, but since the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins, they took the NL East division and the first-round bye in the playoffs.

It was an impressive display by the Mets nonetheless, who won 4-2 and 8-0.

Shortstop Francisco Lindor hit his 26th home run of the season, but the coolest thing about that is that one of the dogs present in the stadium was the one catching the ball.

“A dog caught Francisco Lindor’s home run ball tonight at Citi Field,” The Athletic MLB tweeted.

A Very Good Dog!

That’s a good dog right there!

Can you imagine if a dog had caught Aaron Judge‘s ball from his 62nd home run!

That would have been one rich dog.

Hopefully the dog who caught Lindor’s home run ball got to keep it to play around with its owners.

As for Lindor, he completed an excellent season, much better than the 2021 one.

Before the last game of the season in which he could potentially rest with an eye on the Wild Card series, he slashed .270/.339/.449 with 26 long balls, 104 RBI, and 98 runs.

He also added 16 stolen bases and some excellent defense at shortstop.

He figures to be one of the Mets’ most important players heading to the postseason.

The Mets will host the San Diego Padres over the weekend for the Wild Card round.
