'Emancipation' Official Trailer Starring Will Smith

Will Smith stars in the upcoming Apple Original film, “Emancipation,” where he plays Peter, a slave who uses his smarts and love for his family to escape in Louisiana, dodging the swamp and hunters to keep freedom. The film is inspired by the 1863 photos of “Whipped Peter,” which were taken during a Union Army medical examination and first appeared in Harper’s Weekly. Access Hollywood has an exclusive sneak peek of the trailer. “Emancipation” will hit theaters on Dec. 2 and Apple TV+ on Dec. 9.
