Grant Williams of the Boston Celtics had something to say on Friday night.

And Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat was ready to say something right back to him.

In the fourth quarter of Game 2, Williams hit a three-pointer and talked trash to Butler as he made his way back up the court.

Butler wanted his revenge – and he got it.

Just moments later, Butler put up two points and got fouled by Williams.

The two players then got in each others’ faces and needed to be pulled apart.

Butler had obviously heard what Williams had to say and the three-point play was his response.

On Twitter, Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell summed the situation up and gave Williams advice: “Don’t poke the bear.”

Williams had every right to be proud of his three-pointer, especially after he sat on the bench for all of Game 1.

But he should know by now that Butler was going to get fired up by the trash-talking.

Butler has been a man on a mission for weeks now.

At the start of the playoffs, many people expected the Heat to fall apart in the opening round.

Instead, they took out the best team in the league and then also defeated the New York Knicks in the second round.

Again and again, Butler has been the best player in the postseason.

Now his team is up 2-0 over the Celtics.

They are just two victories away from returning to the NBA Finals.

Butler is close to winning his first championship ring and no amount of trash-talking is going to lead him off course.
