The Dallas Cowboys lost their latest showdown against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Gone are their four-game winning streak and Cooper Rush‘s perfect record as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.

But that defeat can help ease Dak Prescott into his role after recovering from a thumb injury.

Prescott has been out of action since Week 1, when he got that injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, Rush and the Cowboys held the fort by winning their next four games.

Unfortunately, the Eagles were able to reveal Rush’s limitations, enabling them to remain undefeated.

In that case, Prescott is ready to take over once again and return the squad to their winning ways.

NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo tweeted, “Dak Prescott on whether he’ll be back this coming week for the #Cowboys against the #Lions: ‘Yeah, sure, that’s my plan.’”

He added, “Dak Prescott added he felt ‘great, fantastic’ throwing pregame tonight.”

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb also vouched for Prescott, saying that his throwing power is back.

Timeline Of Prescott’s Injury

Initially, Prescott’s recovery period after a successful surgery was estimated at six to eight weeks.

However, it was reduced to four to six weeks because of his faster healing.

The Cowboys decided not to place him on injured reserve, hoping he can return within four weeks.

Dallas’ defeat against Philadelphia shouldn’t leave any doubts that Prescott is still their best option at quarterback.

While their defense has been solid throughout the season, they need a playmaker that can identify the opportunities for his teammates.

Combining a potent offense with a menacing defense can help the Cowboys become more dominant for the remainder of the regular season.
