We are now just two days away from the Super Bowl.

Before this event, the NFL Honors takes place, and last night, award winners from across the league were crowned.

Although many prestigious achievements were presented, one award has been often seen as the most meaningful.

The 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award was given to Dak Prescott last night.

Prescott, of course, is the current quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, but his reach in his community as a whole goes much beyond that.

Prescott runs a charitable organization, which is titled “Faith, Fight, Finish.”

There are four main aspects to Prescott’s charity, which include researching colon cancer, assisting those in need when experiencing hard times, suicide prevention and mental health resources, and building a connection between law enforcement and communities.

Prescott’s charitable contributions are motivated by his mother and brother.

In 2013, Prescott’s mom passed away due to colon cancer, and in 2020, his brother was lost due to suicide.

Each one of the aspects of his charity is near and dear to Prescott’s heart, and the NFL honored him for his noble actions.

By continuing to use their platform for more than just football, NFL athletes continue to help out the communities in which they live.

While Prescott was the athlete that ended up winning this award, this is certainly not a slight to the charitable acts of his NFL counterparts.

The NFL continues to give back, whether it is to cancer research, awareness of a particular disease, or otherwise.
