Keeping in mind that federal, state, and local laws will always apply in a person’s location, Brannon attempts to shed some light on those scenario’s most often misunderstood for people conceal carrying a handgun in Louisiana.
Here we look at the question of wether or not we can carry in a place that serves alcohol. That will ultimately depend on the permit issued to that business to serve alcohol. As long as it IS NOT a “Class A General Retail Permit”, then you will be allowed to carry.

Also remember that any private property owner (business) can also prohibit firearms into their building via signage. There is no statute pertaining directly to such signage, but ignoring it could open the door for a weak, but still arrestable, “Remaining in Places AFter Being Forbidden” or “Trespassing” charge.
If a place prohibits firearms, respect the wishes of the private property owner and take your money elsewhere to business’ that support your beliefs and have the common sense to let law-abiding people be law-abiding people.
Anyone who carries a firearm for defense or who takes their defense seriously, should already have the services of a qualified defense attorney secured. While the handgun is an important tool, it is one of several important components to a comprehensive personal protection plan.
