For all intents and purposes, it’s very likely that Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Ryan Helsley, and Miles Mikolas will be a part of the National League All-Star Game roster representing the St. Louis Cardinals.

The big game will take place on July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

But the Futures Game is also a pretty big deal.

That will take place on July 16, also at Dodger Stadium, and two top Cardinals prospects are going to be a part of it.

The Cardinals Player Development department announced on Twitter that shortstop Masyn Winn and third baseman Jordan Walker will represent the team in the Futures Game.

Representing The Organization

This is a pretty big deal for the Cardinals.

These two players have been some of the top prospects within the organization for the past couple of years.

Both Walker and Winn were drafted by the Cardinals in the 2020 draft.

Walker was a first-round selection while Winn was taken in the second round.

Having these two players get selected to play in the Futures Game is a testament to the Cardinals organization and how it drafts and develops talent.

A ton of credit should go to the team’s scouting director, Randy Flores, who was a pitcher on their 2006 World Series championship squad.

He has done a tremendous job of finding such talented players in the draft and helping stack the Cardinals farm system with some great young talent.

But the Cardinals have always been a team that drafts and develops well.

Walker and Winn are certainly prime examples of that.

Now, they’ll represent the Cardinals on the big stage on July 16.

These two players have bright futures and will one day play a key role in the Cardinals success.
