The Chicago Bears are heading into the 2023 offseason with problems all around them.

From the offensive line to their defensive unit, the problems in Chicago are a major concern to fans.

However, the team has the largest salary cap for the 2023 season among NFL teams.

With over $100 million in salary cap space, they have plenty of money to burn.

But there’s an old saying of how more money just means more problems.

If the Bears want to fix their current list of problems with money, they need to be wise about their use of the salary cap.

Failing to do this will create more problems.

But where should they focus their money for 2023 to improve the team?

They could go looking for free agents to improve the team.

If they go this route, they need some proven offensive linemen to protect quarterback Justin Fields.

With Fields being a scrambling quarterback, they need athletic linemen who can move with him.

The young quarterback is proving he doesn’t like the pocket, as he’s been sacked 55 times this season.

While some sacks are the fault of his offensive line, others are on him reading the pressure incorrectly.

If the Bears want Fields to succeed in 2023, they will get him linemen who can let him roll outside of the pocket safely.

However, they have other issues which they must focus on.

Their defense is an area of major concern.

Two of their last four losses saw the Bears blowing leads after halftime.

Without a dominant defensive front, it’s not stopping opponents from making comebacks.

They need to address these issues if they want any success in 2023.
