Looking for a new phone for cheap? Yes, we all know flagship phones these days are pretty expensive; however, luckily for us, awesome sale events like Amazon Prime Day are here to save our wallets from extinction (or from growing legs and running away…). This year, Prime Day is scheduled for July 12 and 13, so the clock is ticking as we eagerly await from some awesome deals.

The thing is, though, when the shopping frenzy begins, offers fly in from everywhere and can be a lot to handle and make sense of, and that’s where we come in. This article aims to help you filter the best Amazon Prime Day phone deals as they appear.

For now, though, while we eagerly wait for the discounts, here are some predictions on what to expect, based on our experience with the sale event in previous years.

Amazon has dropped a couple of phones as part of its Early Prime Day deals list.

Prime Day Samsung Galaxy deals expectations

Samsung Galaxy phones: if you’ve set your eyes on upgrading this year and Prime Day is the day for you, you will be happy to hear that the sale event usually has some generous discounts on the hottest Galaxy phones out there.

Let’s get into the specifics of what to expect: the mighty-powerful Galaxy S22 series will for sure be discounted during the sale event. Long story short though, the S22 series will make an appearance among the deals, and probably we can also see the year-old S21 get some irresistible offers.

Last year, the S21 series got around 25% discounts on Amazon and Best Buy, so gear up for getting a similar deal this year with the S22.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a cool foldable phone this Prime Day, the Z Fold 3 and the Z Flip 3 are great candidates for your attention.

You can expect around 10-20% off for those phones at retailers, and carriers might have hot trade-in deals available as well. For reference, the Z Fold 2 and Z Flip 2, which were the hottest foldables last year, were slashed by $200 at Best Buy, so yeah, the hopes are up for the same to unfold in the summer of 2022.

But as you may know, Samsung doesn’t only sell premium phones. The South Korean company has great value-for-money mid-rangers. We expect phones like the Galaxy S21 FE and the Galaxy A53 to get irresistible price tags at Amazon and Samsung’s website during Prime Day.

Last year, that’s exactly what happened with their predecessors: the S20 FE was $200 off at Amazon, while the A52 and A42 were discounted on Samsung.com!

Prime Day iPhones deals expectations

Okay, let’s talk Apple. We all know that it can be quite the interesting challenge to hunt for a deal on an iPhone (especially the newest ones!). Well, the best iPhone Prime Day deals are for refurbished units, but that’s not set in stone as last year, we saw the hot-at-the-time iPhone 12 generously discounted at Best Buy. So yeah, we can expect some iPhone 13 deals, especially at Best Buy.

In case you’re curious about the details, the most generous iPhone deals during the sale event last year were present at Best Buy with carrier activation. At the time, the iPhone 12 mini was available for just $499 with a Verizon plan, while the iPhone 12 got $100 off discount for AT&T customers at the retailer. You might want to think about your contract with your carrier if you’re looking at buying an iPhone during the sales.

But, as we said above, refurbished iPhones at Amazon were even more discounted. If you don’t mind a renewed iPhone, you’re in for a treat this Prime Day, as those will for sure be discounted generously at the retailer.

Prime Day Google Pixel deals expectations

Last year, the Pixels were a bit shy when it came to Prime Day discount. To set the stage: $50 off at Best Buy for the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a, $80 off for a renewed Pixel 5 at Amazon during the sale event.

This year, we have Prime Day Pixel 6 deals to look forward to, and we’re for sure excited to see what deals can retailers and carriers surprise us with this year for these handsets.

Prime Day deals on OnePlus phones expectations

Amazon and OnePlus were so ready for Prime Day offers last year, and the discounts there were simply awesome! At the time, the OnePlus 8 (this phone was a year old when Prime Day sales started) got a great $350 discount at Amazon, while the OnePlus 8T was $150 off on OnePlus’ website, while the OnePlus 8 was $300 off!

Based on that info, you can expect the OnePlus 9 series to get an irresistibly low price tag during the shopping event this year. On top of that, the OnePlus 10 Pro will probably also join in the discounts, but its price tag could be more close to the retail price.

Prime Day Motorola phones deals expectations

Amazon Prime Day straight out rocked for Motorola phone adopters last year. Many Moto phones got discounted at Best Buy and Amazon, and the offers were very exciting. For example, $200 off on the Motorola One 5G, $220 off on the Motorola edge, $240 off on the Moto Razr 2020… very generous offers, we might add!

We expect the powerful Motorola Edge+ to get discounted at Amazon, as well as on Motorola’s website for Prime Day 2022.

Prime Day affordable Nokia phones deals expectations

As you may know, Nokia is also currently focusing on the budget-friendly phones, just like Motorola. The cool thing is that during last year’s Prime Day, most Nokia phones were just about 10-20% cheaper in comparison to their retail price.

Are Prime Day cell phone deals worth it?

That’s quite a good question and there is no definitive answer on whether or not Prime Day deals on cell phones are worth it. In our experience, both scenarios are possible – some phones got extremely good discounts in previous years, but some other devices were a bit more modestly discounted in terms of Prime Day deals.

Cell phone deals on Prime Day are worth it especially when it’s a pure discount, like Amazon or Best Buy. Of course, choosing a good plan with your carrier related to a deal for a phone you like is also good strategy, just make sure you calculate everything yourself and don’t forget to ask your carrier whatever question comes to mind in case you’re wondering about a deal.

How to get the best cell phone deals on Prime Day?

Although finding the best deal is somewhat a challenge, we have some tips that might come handy when the sale event begins. First off, we recommend making sure to track price changes on a product you have set your eyes on.

In order to monitor price changes on a phone you like, you can add it to your card without ordering, and that way, you can get notified by Amazon if the price tag changes. Additionally, you can compare the same device’s price at other retailers or at your carrier to get a bigger picture of the deal you’re thinking of going for.
