Am I losing weight if the scale doesn’t change? Why do Influencers brag on what they paid for?

Some would say I am losing inches and not weight. But in order to lose inches dont you have to lose weight? Or at the least tone up? Is this the reason the scale remains the same, and my weight is maintained. As long as I am being the best version of myself, and I have the motive, I will never give up on me.
As an adult, I never understand people who feel the need to disclose what they paid for something. To me getting on social media saying how much you paid for this or that…is not a flex. If someone asks, I can understand. Or if you are doing it to teach others how to acheive those goals (if those are the goals they set for themselves) then yes I get it. But just to tell me I paid for this, and I bought this car, I live like this……isnt that what we as adults are supposed to do?
