A Message from SBCTB President Stacy Brown – North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference
The North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference, where business meets travel, is set for Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registrants may attend the conference in person at Hilton Hotel Shreveport, 104 Market St., in Shreveport, or virtually via Zoom. This conference is being organized by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau in partnership with the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce, and Strategic Action Council/Minority Supplier Institute. The event is sponsored by Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, AEP SWEPCO, Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Good Guys Promotional Products, APS Payroll, Red River Bank, Shreveport-Bossier Hotel Lodging Association, and Hilton Shreveport.
Travel and hospitality professionals and businesses will meet virtually to discuss the current and future impact of COVID-19 on the tourism industry. Tourism is a vital part of Shreveport-Bossier’s economy, and the conference will provide insight on local and national travel trends. This all-day conference will cover a variety of topics including a national look at the impact of COVID-19 on travel, as well as the impact to the Shreveport-Bossier economy. Speakers will cover topics that range from gaming to sports tourism and conventions and meetings outlook to festivals and outdoor events.
The nationally renowned tourism consultant, Adam Sacks, will be the featured speaker for the North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference. Adam is the president of Tourism Economics, which is an Oxford Economics company dedicated to analytically-based consulting to the tourism sector.
For more than two decades, Adam has worked with destinations, industry associations, and companies around the world in the areas of opportunity and risk assessments, policy analysis, and economic impact.
