Although he is officially with the Utah Jazz right now, most reports suggest that Russell Westbrook will be bought out by the team within the next few days.

That will make him available for any team that wants him, although it’s not quite clear which front office will offer him a deal.

Apparently, one team is already starting to talk with Westbrook about his future.

Shams Charania has reported that the Los Angeles Clippers have begun conversations with Westbrook.

This means that the process of having Westbrook switch from the Lakers to the Clippers might have begun.

To some people, this will be music to their ears.

And to others, it’ll be cause for concern.

There is no doubt that Westbrook’s recent stint with the Lakers was disappointing.

He repeatedly played inconsistently and was at times producing some of the worst basketball of his career.

However, he proved himself as an impressive bench player for much of this season and gained back some of the respect he had lost.

Fans of the Clippers will likely be very timid about Westbrook joining their squad.

Will they get the frustrating version of Westbrook we saw last season or the enhanced side of him we got in 2022-23?

The final decision will rest solely with the Clippers’ front office, of course, but certain players on the team have already made their opinions clear.

Both Paul George and Nicolas Batum apparently want Westbrook on the squad.

Are they the ones behind these conversations?

More importantly, will talks between Westbrook and the team lead anywhere or will another team be the one to sign the former MVP?
