The Brooklyn Nets lost their fourth-straight game on Thursday night and Ben Simmons didn’t make it any easier for them.

Simmons’ struggles continued as he was ejected for arguing with the ref during the 117-112 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Simmons’ ejection came after he received a foul that he didn’t think was appropriate.

Following that, he continued to chirp at the ref until he received two technicals back-to-back and was ejected from the game.

This is just the latest in a long list of troubles that have been plaguing Simmons.

Head coach Jacque Vaughn opened up about Simmons after the game, highlighting what he expects and wants from the star.

“We need him to be productive, and that is without the fouls,” Vaughn said.

He continued, “That is helping us rebound the basketball. That is playing with poise and composure. That is pushing the pace for us.”

In other words, Vaughn is wanting a lot from Simmons.

But what are the chances that he ends up seeing this?

Just days after earning his first triple-double, the situation with Simmons is giving the Nets a headache as they try to get by without their top star, Kevin Durant.

For Thursday’s game, Simmons ended with 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 turnovers too.

Simmons has given some moments of greatness for Brooklyn but he has remained stubbornly inconsistent, which is not what the team wanted when they acquired him last season from the Philadelphia 76ers.

That paired with a number of injuries has made Simmons far less attractive than he was just a year ago.

But now that Vaughn has clearly stated what he expects from Simmons, there is a chance that the former All-Star changes his game and starts delivering.

If not, you can expect to hear a lot of talk about Simmons possibly leaving Brooklyn in the next few months.
