Almost 5% of US adults deal with some level of depression. Did you know that residents in US cities are far more likely to be depressed than rural Americans? That’s right for some reason when you have the opportunity to see 5 assaults, 31 sidewalk tents, tons of graffiti, a person talking to a lamp post, and two rats fighting over a Dorito all on your 10-minute bus ride home you tend to be a little depressed.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates about 4.7% of adults (ages 18 and older) deal with depression.
There are a million and one reasons people get depressed, but when you have a percentage that is far above the average some of those reasons have to do with the location you live.
