  • Parx Casino continues to support golf in the Philadelphia area
  • The casino’s latest sponsorship is with GAP
  • Parx has long supported the Philadelphia PGA Section

No casino in Pennsylvania makes more money from its physical slot machines and table games than does Parx. And no casino in the commonwealth more strongly supports the game of golf in the Keystone State.

Just days after Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square hosted the 108th PGA Championship, a major tournament golf observers celebrated as a major success for both the club and Philly, Parx doubled down on its commitment to supporting and growing the game of golf in the region. A longtime supporter of the Philadelphia PGA Section, Parx announced on Tuesday a partnership with GAP, or the Golf Association of Philadelphia.

“We’re proud to partner with GAP, an organization that shares our deep roots in the Philadelphia region and commitment to delivering premier experiences for its members,” said John Dixon, Parx Casino chief operating officer.

The GAP partnership begins with Parx Casino and its online unit, betPARX, serving as the title sponsor of this week’s Middle-Amateur Championship. The 54-hole tournament is being hosted at Jefferson Golf Club, a recently renovated public facility that, like Aronimink, was originally designed by legendary golf architect Donald Ross.

“The Middle-Amateur Championship has quickly become one of the standout events on the GAP calendar, and we’re excited to support its continued growth while creating new opportunities for engagement both on-site and digitally for GAP members throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” Dixon explained of the marketing investment.

Golfers Like Gambling

Parx having a strong presence within Philadelphia’s golf community likely benefits its casino and iGaming/online sports betting businesses. Golfers, after all, fancy a wager.

A Golf Digest survey estimates that about 80% of adult male golfers participate in some sort of friendly wager on the course. Such bets are deeply rooted in the sport’s culture, with the thinking that a wager adds pressure and excitement to an otherwise casual round.

Common bets on the course include a Nassau, where a wager is split into three bets, with the front nine, back nine, and 18-hole match. A skins game is where each hole is assigned a value, with the lowest score claiming the skin. Carryovers can make the game a high-stakes affair.

Wolf is another popular game, where the “wolf” tees off last and picks his or her partner based on their tee shot. When the final player goes alone, they’re considered the “wolf.”

Parx Casino Revenue

Parx Casino has been the top-grossing physical casino in Pennsylvania for several years. The casino, which is located just north of Philadelphia in Bensalem, offers about 3,000 slot machines and 140 tables.

In 2025, Parx generated gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $374.7 million from its slots and $199.2 million from its tables. Parx maintained a 17% market share in the state casino industry that numbers 17 brick-and-mortar properties. Parx’s combined GGR of $573.9 million topped Wind Creek Bethlehem in second at $526 million.

Parx’s online casino and sports betting operations added about $80 million in 2025 revenue.
