NFL Insider Reveals Baker Mayfield’s Status For Thursday
The Los Angeles Rams might have a surprising change at quarterback for their Thursday Night Football game tonight against the Las Vegas Raiders.
After being claimed off of waivers by the Rams on Tuesday of this week, Baker Mayfield may be called upon to start for the Rams as soon as tonight.

Learning an NFL playbook in just under two days seems like a tall task for anyone, let alone a quarterback.
In the same time frame, it wouldn’t be nearly as difficult for a receiver or running back to be plugged into an offense right away.
However, the quarterback is the field general of a team.
They need to be equipped with a strong knowledge of the team playbook, and a solid understanding of how the offense typically runs.

Besides the possibility of Mayfield starting tonight, tonight’s game between the Raiders and Rams is not projected to be a high-flying matchup.
The two teams have a combined record of 8-16.
The Rams are recovering from a severe Super Bowl hangover, and the Raiders haven’t been able to perform anywhere near their preseason expectations.
Despite their poor records, the Mayfield narrative alone should make this game worth watching.
The Rams will be able to find out what they have in Mayfield, and if he can perform at a high level on a new roster.
If he does start, the Raiders are the perfect opponent, as they are surrendering 270.6 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks.
