England white-ball captain Jos Buttler will miss the upcoming one-day international series against the West Indies after a setback in his recovery from injury.

Lancashire all-rounder Liam Livingstone will instead captain England for the first time in the three-day ODI series, which starts on October 31 in Antigua.

England said Buttler, who missed England’s T20 and ODI series against Australia in September, had suffered “a slight setback in his rehabilitation” from his calf injury.

Buttler will instead join up with the squad in Barbados ahead of the five-match T20 series, which begins on November 9.
