The Baltimore Ravens have a new quarterbacks coach in Tee Martin, who has been promoted after serving as their wide receivers coach for the past two seasons.

He will continue to serve under head coach John Harbaugh, who released a statement in which he said he is “excited” about Martin’s new role.

Before joining the Ravens two years ago, Martin had been a college and high school coach for over a decade at multiple schools, including the University of Southern California and the University of Tennessee.

He had been a standout quarterback at Tennessee in the mid-to-late 1990s, where he led them to a win in the 1999 Fiesta Bowl alongside running back Jamal Lewis, who would go on to star in the NFL, most notably with Baltimore’s 2000 Super Bowl-winning squad.

Martin himself played two seasons in the pros in 2001 with the Pittsburgh Steelers and 2003 with the Oakland Raiders.

In his new role, the big question is whether he will get to work with Lamar Jackson next season.

Jackson will be a free agent this offseason, and he has reportedly been asking for a huge new contract.

The Ravens seem reluctant to pay him the type of money he is demanding, and fans and observers feel he isn’t worth that much money, especially given that he is a rushing QB and has missed five games in each of the last two seasons.

A sprained PCL cost Jackson the last five regular season games in 2022, as well as the Ravens’ wild-card round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
