Things aren’t about to get any easier for the slumping St. Louis Cardinals.

Tonight, they’ll open a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, who have won six of their last 10 games and have a lineup that features perhaps the two best players in all of baseball in Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.

The last time the Angels made their way to Busch Stadium was in 2019.

That was the first time Albert Pujols played at Busch Stadium as an opposing player.

Ohtani and Trout were both present then, but the Cardinals took two out of three in that series.

The difference now is that Ohtani will in fact be pitching during the series.

He’ll start on Wednesday night against Miles Mikolas.

On Twitter, a Cardinals fan posted a hilarious meme to sum up how the fanbase is feeling about facing off against the two-way star.

With the way things have been going, facing Ohtani doesn’t necessarily bode well for the Cardinals.

The team is off to its worst start in 50 years and are nine games below the .500 mark for the first time since 2007.

They were recently swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game series and have now lost eight of their last 10 games.

Needless to say, Cardinals fans are a little bit nervous about facing the two-way star.

Ohtani won an MVP in 2021 and had another solid season on the mound and at the plate in 2022.

He is currently 4-0 with an ERA of 1.85 heading into his start on Wednesday against St. Louis.
