It might still be hot and sunny outside, but the holiday season will be here before you know it! To ensure you don’t miss a beat when it comes to scooping up the hottest toys for the kids (and kids at heart) in your life, Walmart has released its infamous Top Toys list.
This list, which includes dozens of the hottest toys on the market catered to a variety of age groups, budgets and interests, gives parents some insight into what’s trending this year and gives kids some inspiration while they craft their wish lists.
Last year, Walmart released this list on Aug. 22, close to three weeks earlier than its Sept. 9 release this year. This is a pleasant surprise for those who fall into the “let’s get through back to school season before we start talking about the holidays” camp.
Walmart Top Toys List 2024
In its press release, Walmart revealed that its 2024 toy list includes 66 of the hottest toys on the market, including 25 under $25. This year’s toy list features some of the usual suspects that are a hit year after year, including LEGO sets, Hot Wheels cars and tracks, bikes, Barbie dolls and Little Tikes pretend play sets, as well as many newcomers that are based around trending TV series and movies this year, like a Bluey plane and Wicked dolls. In addition, there are a number of toys exclusively available at Walmart, these include Star Wars Force-N-Telling Darth Vadar, VTech Sort & Discover Activity Center Wagon, LankyBox Giant Cyborg – to name a few.
Newcomer: Barbie World
We noted Barbie dolls are included in the list, but this year Walmart is taking the Barbie selection to a new level with a new exclusive collection created in collaboration with Mattel: Barbie World. This first-of-its-kind collection features a wide range of dolls, accessories and play sets, all of which fall under the $25 price point. You can check out Barbie World online here. Meanwhile in stores, you can take advantage of a customized shopping experience.
While you won’t want to drag your feet too much if you are hoping to give a hot-ticket toy to your little one this year, you still have time to shop. And you can expect some of these toys to be discounted in October during pre-Black Friday sales.
