March 24, 2023: The SPC has outlined a Moderate Risk (level 4 of 5) across the ArkLaMiss region today. Severe storms should first initiate along a line near and just south of a rapidly deepening surface low from central Arkansas down into northwest Louisiana and east Texas by early to mid-afternoon with a tornado and damaging wind threat. From late afternoon into evening, discrete supercells may fire ahead of the QLCS in the ArkLaMiss, fostering a threat for damaging winds and tornadoes, some of which could be strong/long-track. We may see a few strong tornadoes within the QLCS, especially near the track of the surface low.
