Dispatch, we indeed have a problem!
It’s been one hell of a ride, but 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s three-part premiere event will come to a close with the exciting conclusion of the train derailment.
And fortunately for us, we scored an exclusive sneak peek of tonight’s episode!
The Train Derailment is a Multi-level Catastrophe
Ironically, 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 1 only introduced the train derailment arc, which caught us up with most of the characters.
But this one disaster managed to spiral into many little disasters, some of which you will not be prepared for, so you can’t miss the hour!
We already saw during 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 2 how the train derailment was the result of a single employee choking on a hoagie and passing out.
If you recall, one of the most devastating incidents that kickstarted the series with 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 1 Episode 1 was the result of one single employee feeling peckish and leading to a massive explosion that killed most of the original 126.
By now, we know that nothing good can come from a hungry, overworked employee!
The accident has already resulted in an endearing father trapped under the rubble of the explosion and nearly dying.
Fortunately, Mateo had his moment to shine when he rescued him, which most likely safely led to that guy reuniting with his daughter.
But we still have many other incidents to worry about.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 3 Must Resolve Two Major Derailment Plots
We must also figure out what happened to that small child who encountered that scary lady who looked like a zombie, right?
But most heart-tugging of all, we’re all clamoring to know what happened to sweet Damon, who hopped the train to his brother’s side for his kidney transplant.
We know Damon was inside one of the train cars when it went off the tracks, and there was a sign of his belongings in the rubble.
But where is he?! We need to know!
Prayer circle (if you’re into that) for Damon and that he comes out of this alive!
Poisonous Gas Poses a New Problem
But the promos (and our exclusive sneak peek) also tell us that the poison gas from the crash will pose a serious problem for everyone.
That yellow cloud of smoke that has TK running for his life in the promo?
Oh, we’re definitely biting our nails over that.
It also appears that it may result in TNT trapped inside of a room, praying for their lives and making their last requests as they fear their end is near.
But before things get serious and nerve-wracking, we have the more ominous look of what happens when the unit realizes that this gas poses a problem.
Mateo notices the issue first when they deliver one of the most classic literary representations of death.
You know the one: the death of a blackbird.
Dead crows and ravens are never a good sign.
And just as the team comes into focus, blurred vision in all (a mark of some great camera work and editing), they realize that the explosion was the least of their problems!
As a dead bird hits the ground while they’re still checking each other for injuries and ringing in their ears, it’s clear that the 126’s work has only just begun.
It’s going to be an exciting hour!
