Yadier Molina Stays True To Form After Retirement

Yadier Molina is without question an icon in the City of St. Louis.

The future Hall-of-Fame catcher played all 19 seasons of his career in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform.

Cardinals fans loved him for multiple reasons, with the obvious one being that he was the rock of the team for so many years and could stop runners attempting to steal a base in their tracks with his cannon of an arm.

But Cardinals fans also got to see the fiery side of Molina.

He was never afraid to sacrifice everything in order to defend his team and his city.

Granted, Molina found himself in some hot water a couple of times, with him being suspended three times during his career.

The 40-year-old is currently managing Navegantes del Magallanes of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, and even after retiring as a player, Molina is still not afraid to let the umpires have it after a bad call or two.

New Job, Same Yadi

Yes, you read that correctly.

As a manager, Molina has already been ejected four times and was recently suspended for two games and fined.

It’s clear that the retired backstop has not lost his edge, nor changed in the slightest.

Molina was always a bit of a firecracker during his career and was never afraid to fight back when provoked.

In retirement, nothing has changed.

He is still the same Yadier Molina that he was during his playing days.

It was never a wise idea to try and steal a base off of him, but is certainly not a good idea to get on his bad side, and that is why Cardinals fans will always love their legendary catcher.
