Uniter or divider? An expert panel explores religion’s influence in modern America

0

In a country deeply divided over social, political, and moral issues that seems to be moving further apart by the day, the answer to whether religion can unite as well as divide us is not likely to be a simple one. PRX’s How God Works podcast will explore this issue with an expert panel at The Greene Space in New York City on December 7th beginning at 7:30pm EST. Host David DeSteno and guests will look at the science of how beliefs affect our minds, why antisemitism and Christian Nationalism are on the rise, why religion — something that that has the potential to connect us so deeply — can divide us so profoundly, and whether, regardless of what we believe, we can learn from what religion gets right at times to find a way to come together.
